Overcoming Low Self-Esteem: Knowing Your Worth Am I enough? Do I bring anything of value to the table? Does it matter that I'm here? Is there a point to my existence? Do these thoughts sound familiar? Low self-esteem can manifest itself in so many ways. Feeling inferior to others, lack of confidence, comparing yourself to others, feeling threatened by the success of others, and the list goes on and on. Most of these issues stem from a deep-seated feeling of worthlessness. And that comes from not knowing or understanding your true value. The Bible says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…" Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) But when you know the truth it makes you free. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 (NKJV) What is the truth? You are loved. You are valued. You have so much worth. You have a purpose. These are not mere words or simply words to make you feel better. They're not some words of affirmation to improve your feeling of self-worth. They are God's Word. Yes, the Bible in 1 Corinthians 6:20 says you were bought with a price. Now, the value of anything depends on its price. How much you paid or can pay for it. So let's know your value. It goes beyond gold, silver, and the US dollar. "Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold" 1 Peter 1:18 (NKJV) Nah. It's much more than that. It's the blood of the only son of God. "But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." 1 Peter 1:19 (NKJV) God, the owner of the whole universe, who made all things and has all things looked at you and decided you were worth giving His only begotten Son.
